What a crazy weekend we had in the wild card round. We had a ugly affair & the rest of them were close games, especially the Sunday afternoon one, which had some controversies during the game & we’re finding out bout the officiating the day after. We have some interesting stories heading into these games. Let’s break down these games.

Baltimore vs New England- The main attraction for the Saturday games. Both teams know each other very well & the Ravens have won 2 of the last 3 match-ups in the postseason. I guess Flacco owns Brady. The Ravens had to go into Pittsburgh & defeat a Steelers team who was already banged up w/ no Leveon Bell. The Pats had the bye week, but the pressure will be on them since they have home field throughout & this could be their best chance to win it all in 10 yrs. It has a heavyweight fight appeal to it. The Pats are td home faves. I like the Pats to win & cover.

Randy: New England

Carolina vs Seattle- The Panthers defense made life worst for Ryan Lindley last week & the Cards didn’t what hit them. The running game between Jonathan Stewart, Mike Tolbert, Fozzy Whitaker, DeAngelo Williams & even Cam Newton made up for the fact that Cam overshot his receivers. They got the win, but now have to come to the Link to face the champs who are on a roll. They are rested as well. These teams know each other because they played each other tough in Charlotte & it took a Russell Wilson last minute td drive to win. I hope the Panthers don’t get affected by the 12th man. The champs are 10.5 home faves. For some reason, i’m calling my shot & picking the Panthers for the upset & take the under.

Randy; Seattle

Dallas vs Green Bay- The game of the day for Sunday. The Cowboys had to fight some controversy to defeat the Lions last week. They were getting dominated by them for like the 1st 3 qts & some say they needed some luck to finish them off. The Packers had the bye week, but the biggest story for them is the condition of Aaron Rodgers. Today, we found out he has a tear in his calf in addition to a strain. He probably will in shotgun formation or pistol formation the whole game. I know it’ll be hard for him to scramble, but he better stay in the pocket & throw it away when nothing’s available or pressure is coming. It’s going be a cold day in Lambeau. The Packers are 5.5 home faves. Even though Rodgers’ injury is a question, if they can get Eddie Lacy going, I like the Packers to win & cover the spread. Funny part id that I have to deejay for SCDCFC this sunday. I wonder how Letty will respond to this.

Randy: Green Bay

Indianapolis vs Denver- Successor meets predecessor. Manning vs Luck. The 1st time 2 sons of former quarterbacks meet in the playoffs. The Colts had to hold off the Bengals to advance & I’m surprised Marvin Lewis still has his job. For the Broncos, they are the defending AFC champs & they are looking to get back to the big game, but this time a different result. It’s ll be like looking in the mirror watching these guys play. It’ll come down to which qb makes the less mistake. Last yr, Luck threw 7 ints in the postseason & he was one of the league leaders in turnovers this yr. The Broncos are td home faves. I like the Broncos to win & cover. I trust the Broncos’ running game over the Colts.

Randy: Denver

Last week, yours truly went 3-1 in the wild card weekend while Randy went 2-2. In the overall standings, my lead increased w/ 173-93-1 while Randy got 170-94-1.. Anything can happen in the postseason. Happy belated b-days to Jessica Lara, Mel Newberry & cousin Nikki Reynolds. Happy b-day shootouts this week to Michael Varciag, Aaron Ramos, David Tang, Faby Obispo, Daniel “Dumpty” Garcia,, my girl Nancy Bolanos, & last but not least, the lil bro Terrance Brewster. Crazy that I’m saying this because before I close this blog out, I have 3 things on my mind. 1) R.I.P. to Stuart Scott,!! 49 yrs old & cancer takes him away from. He made watching Sportscenter fun & he brought swagger to it w/ the hip hop logo. When I was a young guy, I always wanted to be a sportscaster, but there wasn’t any african americans that influence other than Irv Cross. Now with Stephen A Smith, him,& Michael Wilbon a big motivation for me whenever I’m blogging, I gotta say thank you to Stuart for being my motivation. 2) Make sure you check the homie Alex “Campaign Life” Reyes w/ his ‘Hood Picks” on Happy Fun Time Sports w/ Kevin & Melissa as well as check out the homie Screws & his podcast “Screws U” on iTunes ,& 3) since the national championship for college football is on Monday, i gotta say in my 50 Cent voice: GET EM BUCKS!!! Good Luck to Urban Meyer, Cardale Jones, Ezekial Elliot & the m boyz. Check you guys out next week when we breaking the conference title games. I’m leaving you guys something special at the end of this blog. Peace!!
