Down the stretch we go in the season. 7 more weeks left in the season & we have a log jam in playoff positioning in both conferences. It’s fun to have parity in the league. Last week, we saw my Browns end 2 streaks in Cincy, the Steelers playing down to their competiton & losing to the Jets, 49ers w/ a big road win in New Orleans, Stafford w/ another comeback win for the Lions, Romo returning & inserting his dominance, Cards win, but lose a qb, that bad man Aaron Rodgers going H.A.M on da Bears in the 1st half & Mark Sanchez outplaying Cam Newton on Monday night. I wonder what we have in store this week. Let’s break down this week’s games.

Thursday

Buffalo vs Miami- Big game here w/ AFC East complications on the line. Both teams are coming off losses, yet both are 2 games behind the Pats for 1st place in the division. The Dolphins played hard in Detroit before Stafford lead another comeback for them while the Bils had a tough home loss to the Chiefs. Bills looking for the season sweep here as they already won the 1st match-up at home in week 2. It’s gonna a tough game. Dolphins are 5 pt home faves. I like the Dolphins to hold down the homefield & win this game. Take the slight under as well.

Randy:

Sunday

Atlanta vs Carolina- NFC South battle here. The Falcons are coming off a win in Tampa & despite being 3-6, they’re only a game back of New Orleans for 1st place in the divison. For the Panthers, it was ugly on Monday night vs the Eagles as that offensive line got Cam Newton beat up. He was sacked 9 times. I thought I was going see that kid from the Play 60 commercial relieve Newton in the 4th. 1st match-up between these 2 since they won’t meet again til the final week of the season. I wonder if that Panthers line will protect Cam this week. Panthers are 2 pt home faves. I like the Panthers by a fg.

Randy:

Minnesota vs Chicago- NFC North battle here. The Vikings are coming off their bye week, 4-5 & Adrian Peterson may be reinstated next month. That could be big because it would take the pressure off Bridgewater & despite Peterson’s personal problems, the Vikes are a game under .500. For the Bears, what the hell happened to them in Green Bay! Rodgers exploded on them for 6 td passes in the 1st half. The defense gave up a lot of big plays. The only reason I watched the 2nd half on because I had both Matt Forte & Brandon Marshall on my fantasy team. Bears fan already wanting to clean house (fire the coaching staff & trade Cutler). Can the Bears win a home game since all their wins are on the road? It could be ugly in Soldier Field fan wise. Bears are 3.5 home faves. I like the Vikes to steal the game in Chi-Town.

Randy:

Houston vs Cleveland- It’s not a dream. My Browns are in 1st place in the toughest division in the NFL, the AFC North. They went into Cincy & smack the Bengals in the mouth, ending 2 streaks 1) 1st divisional road win in 18 attempts & 2) the Bengals were 13-0-1 in their last home games. Hoyer played mistake free ball & the defense was hard nose. For the Texans, coming off a bye week, but made a change at qb w/ Ryan Mallett. I’m scared of two guys on the Texans: Arian Foster & JJ Watt. Foster is a tough nose running back & Watt can disrupt any offensive line. If only Clowney could be healthy, that could be double trouble. Let’s hope the Browns don’t have a letdown after a big win. Remember. After defeating the Steelers, they laid an egg in Jacksonville. Browns are fg home faves. I like the Browns to win & cover. Remember, Josh Gordon comes back after this week!!

Randy:

Seattle vs Kansas City- Both teams are coming off wins. This use to be a divisional battle back in the days when the Seahawks were in the AFC West. The Chiefs surprised me by going into Buffalo & defeating the Bills in a close battle. Jamal Charles had a crucial td on a 4th down play. For the Seahawks, Marshawn Lynch went beast mode on the Giants rushing for 140 yds & 4 tds & Russell Wilson ran for over 100 yds as well. If anyone thinks the 12th Man is loud in Seattle, than you haven’t heard the Arrowhead crowd!! It’s going be a loud game. Chiefs are a pt home fave. I like the Chiefs to win a close game. Their crowd will disrupt the Seahawks mind set

Randy:

Cincinnati vs New Orleans- Both teams are coming off home losses, but the Bengals got it worse. They were popped in the mouth by their in state & divisional rivals at home, on primetime & Andy Dalton having a qb rating of 2.0 was ugly. The Saints were playing catch-up to the 49ers all game & thought they won in regulation w/ a hail mary to Jimmy Graham from Brees, but was called off because of offensive pass interference. In O.T., their offensive couldn’t do anything & Ahmad Brooks caused a turnover on Brees resulting in their loss. Saints are still in 1st place in the NFC South while the Bengals dropped to 2nd behind the Browns in the AFC North. Saints are a td home fave. I like the Saints to redeem themselves at home w/ a win & cover the spread.

Randy:

San Francisco vs NY Giants- The 49ers got a much needed road win in New Orleans last week. Colin Kaepernick w/ the play of the game was huge & they finally got back to their identity (smash mouth football & hard nose defense). It sucks that Patrick Willis is done for the yr, but they’ll get Aldon Smith back for this game & Navor Bowman in a couple weeks. For the Giants, they were just popped in the mouth by the Seahawks giving up 340 rushing yds. Can’t blame Eli on this loss. He played well, only mistake he made was that interception in the 3rd qtr when they were down by 7. Giants are fighting off the Redskins to not be in last place in the NFC East. 49ers are 4.5 road faves. I like the Niners by a td.

Randy:

Denver vs St. Louis – The Broncos were thankful that they faced the Raiders the week after the loss in New England. Peyton was back to his old tricks & it was so fun that his back-up Ostweiler was fooled to thinking he was going get some action. For the Rams, they played the Cards close for 3 qtrs til the roof caved in on them in the 4th. Let’s see if the Rams front 7 could rattle Manning. Broncos are 9 pt road faves. I like the Broncos to win & take the slight under.

Randy:

Tampa Bay vs Washington- The Bucs are coming off a home loss to the Falcons. It’s been a tough season for Lovie & Tampa. Lovie should be happy he’s not in Chicago. For the Redskins, coming off a bye week, but Desean Jackson already saying there’s friction in the Redskins organization. Front office wants RG III to play while the players want McCoy to play. Both teams aren’t going anywhere. Redskins are a td home fave. I like the Skins to win & cover.

Randy:

Oakland vs San Diego- AFC West battle here. The Raiders are still winless & the Broncos ran them out there own stadium. The Chargers are coming off a bye week, but are struggling losing 3 straight games. Something has to give here. The Chargers are 10.5 home faves. I like the Chargers to win & cover the spread.

Randy:

Detroit vs Arizona- The top 2 seeds in the NFC face off in the game off the week. Both teams are coming off home wins. The Cards won a decisive game over the Rams, but suffered a major blow when Carson Palmer tore his ACL & is now done for the yr. It sucks because he just signed a 3 yr, 50 mil extension 3 days before the game. They do believe in that “next man up” mentality. The Lions had a comeback win over the Dolphins & Megatron returned, scoring a td in the process. They have a great defense & Golden Tate filled in great when Calvin was hurt. It’s gonna be a defensive battle. Cards are 2 pt home faves. I like the Lions to steal this game on the road. I think I trust Stafford over Stanton.

Randy:

Philadelphia vs Green Bay- The Eagles looked great on Monday night vs the Panthers. I know Jets fans were like “how come Mark Sanchez couldn’t play like that when he was w/ us”. I can tell that reason Jets fan: Rex Ryan. Eagles defense also gets some love w/ 9 qb sacks on Cam & forcing 3 turnovers, pick 6 as well. For the Packers, they popped the Bears in the mouth & Aaron Rodgers getting 6 td passes in the 1st half. I thought he would get that 7, but the Bears didn’t want that to happen. Clay Matthews looked decent playing middle linebacker that game. It’s gonna be a toss up game in Lambeau. The Packers are 5 pt home faves. For some reason, I like the Eagles to steal this one on the road.

Randy:

New England vs Indianapolis- NBC got a great game this week & fantasy owners would love this because of the qb match-up between Tom Brady & Andrew Luck. Both teams are coming off the bye week & are leading their respective divisions. Get the fanasy pts ready people (especially me). Indy’s a 2.5 home fave. I like the Pats in a close shootout game.

Randy:

Monday

Pittsburgh vs Tennessee – A doozer of a Monday night game here. Both teams are coming off losses, but nobody expected the Steelers to lay an egg to the 1-8 Jets last week. I told one of my buddies who is a Steelers fan don’t be surprised you have a let down to the Jets because the Steelers seem to have one of those games they play down to their competition.
That’s why the saying “Any giving Sunday” is true for most teams. For the Titans, another loss & they will keep piling up whether it’s Mettenberger or Locker behind center. Steelers are 9.5 road faves. I like the Steelers to win & take the under.

Randy:

Last week, yours truly had a 10-3 showing, taking the top spot from Randy, who fininshed w/ a 9-4 showing. However, in the overall race, it’s a close race w/ Randy leading the way w/ a 95-51-1 record while I’m close behind w/ a 94-52-1 showing. Also, I moved up to 2nd place in the fantasy football league. Mega’s running away w/ the no.1 spot before the playoffs start. Happy b-day shoutouts to my girl Christina Coffee aka Sexy green eyes, Lorraine Salas Caldwell, Micheal Guzman, Vicki Gillson, my cousin Sheilette Curry, Carlos Mendez (turn up time on Saturday), Nikki Serato, Alex Papazian, Julio Blanco, Taina Lopez Vega, Johnnie Martinez, Lindsay Locke, Beau Marquez, Jose Topete, & Raeann Michelle Aguirre. To my buddy Leticia Robinson, enjoy your Cowboys week. I guess you have to root for your fiancee’s team this week. Make sure you follow the homie Screws’ blog “Screws U” on Soundcloud & I’ll catch ya’ll on the next blog. Peace
