Is it me or everyone’s getting tired of these off the field issues. As soon as I had posted the blog last week, we see that Adrian Peterson got arrested for child endangerment aka child abuse. It was a crazy week for running backs in the news. Peterson was wrong for what he did to his son, but I’m going to get ridiculed for saying, but I think child protective services is the reason you can’t spank your kids anymore. Peterson pleaded not guilty & apologize. The Vikings did the right thing by deactivating him & they sure needed him. After he gets reinstated, we hear that another one of his kids claimed he beat him. This week, I was hoping to talk bout how the Bills & Cardinals are the surprising 2-0 teams, the Giants & Saints aren’t looking good at 0-2, my Browns at 1-1, RG III can’t stay healthy & you can never count out the Eagles. Instead, I have to start off by talking bout more off field crap from Peterson, Ray McDonald still playing & he hasn’t been charged in his domestic arrest, & Greg Hardy’s situation & what the Panthers should do. They might lose one of their major sponsors in Busch & Goodell’s creditability is in question here. Enough bout off-field issues, let’s break down week 3.

Thursday

Tampa Bay vs Atlanta- I guess Lovie Smith’s not loving this return to Tampa so far. An 0-2 start & Doug Martin must be getting the sophomore slump & things could be worst w/ their best defensive end Gerald McCoy suffering a broken hand. He hasn’t practice yet. For the Falcons, coming off a loss vs the Bengals & they have both Roddy White & Julio Jones lil banged up. I expect them to play. Divisional battle, so expect may be a close game. Dirty Birds are 6.5 home faves. I like the Falcons by a td.

Sunday

San Diego vs Buffalo- Both teams are riding high after wins. For the Chargers, Phillip Rivers & Antonio Gates made the Legion of Booom look like Lame Old Bitches. With good thing comes bad things for the Chargers as they won’t have Ryan Matthews for a month after spraining his MCL. So expect a lot of Danny Woodhead & use him as your flex player in fantasy football. For the Bills, they got something going on there. CJ Spiller, Fred Jackson, & Sammy Watkins along w/ EJ Manuel have Bills fan thinking of the days of the K-Gun offense. Their defense is amazing as well. Bills are 2.5 home faves. I like the Bills to win & take the over.

Randy:

Dallas vs St. Louis- Both teams regrouped themselves after opening game losses. The Cowboys went into Tennesse & dominated the Texans. They finally decided to go grounf heavy & let DeMarco Murrary get his carries & Dez Bryant showed up (thanks for the fantasy pts). The defense actually looked good as well & caused some turnover. For the Rams, it took 5 field goals from their kicker to defeat Tampa Bay. They are down to their 3rd string qb. They sure do miss Bradford. Cowboys are 1 pt road faves. I like the Cowboys by a fg (hope this make you happy Letty)

Randy:

Washington vs Philadelphia- RG III dislocated his ankle (he’s lucky it was fractured), Kirk Cousins fills in nice for him & they scored 41 on the Jags & won. The defense got 10 sacks on Henne & probably Bortles as well. For the Eagles, another slow start before they made a comeback to win at the end. Some of the national audience felt the Colts got cheated, but they made mistakes to blow the game. Philly is also happy that Darren Sproles on their roster because he made life a living hell for those Colts linebackers & secondary. One great reason to watch this game: the return of Desean Jackson in Philly. He’s playing them for the 1st time since they released after a report saying he had gang affilations & was involved in a murder case, which wasn’t true. My question is does he get booed when introduced. Remember, this is Philly fans that we’re talking about. The Eagles are 6.5 home faves. Kinda nervous bout this game. I like the Eagles to win & take the under.

Randy;

Minnesota vs New Orleans- Mot only the Vikings lost their home opener w/o Peterson, but they still have to deal w/ his distractions. They should probably give a call to the Ravens & ask them how they handled the Ray Rice situation. The Vikings haven’t had this much of the field scrutiny since the Love Boat scandal. What made things worse was Matt Cassel throwing 3 ints. For the Saints, it’s looking a nervous right now. They’re 0-2 & the defense is the reason why, I understand giving up over 440 yds to Matt Ryan, but 240+ to Brian Hoyer, that’s ridiculous. The running game is going take a hit w/ Mark Ingram out for 4 weeks w/ an injury. It’s the home opener for the Saints, so expect a loud crowd. The Saints are 9.5 home favs. Saints are going destroy them. Expect to see Bridgewater if Cassel struggles

Randy:

Tennesse vs Cincinnati- The Bengals got a win over the Falcons, but AJ Green hurt his toe in the process. He’s day to day, & thank goodness that Mohamed Sanu had a breakout game & fantasy geeks picking him up off the waiver wire. They still have that running back by committee w/ Berard & Hill & the defense is still intact. The Titans surprised the Chiefs in week 1, but came back to reality at home vs the Cowboys. Jake Locklear had an ok game & Delante Walker had a great game as well. Game’s in the Natti’, so expect Locklear to be rattled. Bengals are 6.5 home fave. I like the Bengals and the over.

Randy:

Baltimore vs Cleveland- The Ravens shook off the week of Ray Rice & defeated a old Steelers team on Thursday. If Berand Pierce & his back-up can’t keep the running game commited, expect a lot of Flacco passing the ball. My Brownies, on the other hand, show resurgence & Brian Hoyer deserved the game ball for that win on Sunday. 14 plays, 85 yrds in a 2 min drill to lead a drive. The running game of Crowell & West has filled in nicely for Tate being injured. Only thing that’s scaring me is the defense. Last yr, they was a top 10 defesne, now they are giving way too many yds. Let’s tighten things up guys. The Ravens are 2 pt road faves. I like my Browns by a fg. We never give up.

Randy:

Green Bay vs Detroit- NFC North battle here. The Packers had to dig deep & come back from a 21-3 defecit to defeat the jets. Aaron Rodgers had to carry that squad along w/ Jody Nelson because that Jets front 7 slowed Eddie Lacy & I think he never fully recoverd from the concussion vs the Seahawks. The Lions were contained by that Panthers defesne, who deidn’t have Greg Hardy playing. Divisonal battle here, so expect a lot of hard hitting. The Lions are 1.5 home faves. I like the Packers in a close one in Ford Field.

Randy:

Indianapolis vs Jacksonville – AFC South battle. The Colts would want to shake off the comeback loss from Philly last night. Luck had 3 tds (2 passing & a rushing one), but threw a crucial int while they were driving to ice the win when they didn’t need to throw the ball.. Hell, even Ahmad Bradshaw & Trent Richardson tried to keep them balanced w/ the running game. For the Jags, they just got punked by the Skins. It’s pretty much counting down the days til Blake Bortles starting at qg. Both teams are 0-2, so something has to give. The Colts are 6.5 road faves. I like the Colts to win big & take the over.

Noez:

Randy:

Oakland vs New England- 2 weeks in a row I choose the Raiders to win & they let me down. How do they lose to Ryan Fitzpatrick & the Texans? You know it wasn’t your day when Jacoby Jones fumbled twice on the same possession & you got Charles Woodson saying we suck after the loss. For the Pats, they shook off the loss in Miami & dominated the Vikings last week. It helped that they blocked a field goal & Tom Brady didn’t have to do too much. Speaking of Brady, you’re my fantasy qb. You & Gronk need to have some breakout games for me. Memo to Woodson, remember the last time you played the Pats in New England when you were a Raider: TUCK RULE. The Pats are 14 pt faves. I like the Pats and the over.

Noez:

Randy:

San Francisco vs Arizona- The 49ers gave that game away last week. It was the home opener in Santa Clara for them & they looked good for the 1st half despite all those penalties them & the Bears combined to have. Colin Kaepernick decided to look like Romo in the 2nd half & they went away from pounding the rock. The Cardinals are the surprising 2-0 team in that tough NFC West & they defeated the Giants in New York & they did it w/ Drew Stanton starting.We didn’t know what happened to Carson Palmer. Both teams excel of the defensive side even w/ players getting banged up. I wonder if Abraham’s going play for the Cards this game. I see a low scoring affair. The 49ers are 2.5 road faves. I like the Niners by a td.

Noez:

Randy:

Denver vs Seattle- The rematch of last yr’s Super Bowl & we all know how theat went. The Seahawks must had a trap game in San Diego last week. Rivers & Gates took it to the L.O.B. & Richard Sherman was challenged. Even though he said he wasn’t exposed, we saw the clips of Keenan Allen killing you on those short gains. The Broncos had to hold off the Chiefs to secure their win. Peyton Manning’s still looking like his MVP self, but I know he would love to shake off what happened in the Super Bowl. Seahawks are 5 pts home faves. I see the Hawks winning by double digits. If Rodgers got rattled by the 12th man, I wonder what that crowd would do to Manning.

Randy:

Kansas City vs Miami- Both teams are coming off losses. It’s not looking good for the Chiefs. Last yr, they started 9-0, but the strength of schedule helped that out. This yr, an 0-2 start & Jamal Charles getting banged up means that Alex Smith has to show that he’s worth that contract he signed this yr. For the Dolphins, they had all that hype after defeating the Pats in South Beach in week 1 only to get manhandled by their other division rivals in Buffalo. The Bills defense made Tannerhill look like a fluke & fantasy owners dropped him. Both teams need a win to gain some momentum. The Dolphins are 4.5 home fave. I like the Fins to win & take the slight over.

Noez;

Randy:

Pittsburgh vs Carolina- Cam Newton looked impressive in his season debut & Kellen Benjamin is making Panthers fan already forgetting the fact that Steve Smith & Brandon Lafell left in the offseason. The defense is still intact regardless of whether Greg Hardy plays or not. 2-0 & looking to repeat as NFC South champs. The Steelers are an old banged up team. The Ravens punked them last week & how they survived that Cleveland comeback to still win surprised me. In the last 6 qtrs, they have been outscored 53-9. What’s going on Dick LeBeau!! Night game in Carolina, so expect the Panthers to be ready. Panthers are 3.5 home fave. I like the Panthers to win & cover.

Randy:

Monday

Chicago vs N.Y Jets- the Bears had to comeback to defeat the 49ers & ruined the Levi Stadium regular season debut. They did it despite not having Matt Forte go over 45 yrds rushing & four defensive players getting injured, CharlesTillman being the major one tearing the same triceps he tore last yr, ending his season & probably his career. For the Jets, how do you start off leading 21-3 on the Packers in Lambeau & find a way to stil lose? You had Wilkerson getting ejected & the bonehead of all plays: Marty calling a timeout neglecting a game tying td & Rex’s like I don’t kow who called that timeout. It also didn’t help that Dee Millener was getting abused by Jdy Nelson. It’s a home game for the Jets, so they better impress or else the fans will let them know. The Jets are 2.5 home favs. I like the Bears by a fg. I trust Cutler before I trust Geno.

Last week, all of us sorta struggled in pickems, but Randy came out on top w/ a 9-7 finsih while yours truly finished @ 8-8 & Noez made his debut w/ a 7-9 showing. Overall, Randy has a 21-11 standing while myself has a 17-15 showing. Too many losses on my end. I finally got on the win column in f.f last week & Mega 7981 is 2-0 so far. Happy b-day shoutouts to Mandi Owen, Trsih Danielle, Crystal Santos, Amy Panel, Jackie Papazian Brwon, Joanne Villa, Nicholas Smith, Jennifer Saldana, Eddie Fontes, Jennifer Beckman, Javier Padilla, Melissa Moore, Cheryl Zaha, Joaquin Delgado, Allister Carlos, & Jacqleen Marie (see you on Saturday). Make sure you check out the homie Screws blog “Screws U” on Soundcloud & I’ll see everyone next week. Peace!!!
