Is it panic time for RGIII & the Redskins?

How’s my NFL fans going! I know everyone had a great weekend after most of the games came down to the final possession. We also saw Peyton owning Lil Bro Eli, Dashaun Goldstein getting suspended for a helmet to hit shot to Darren Sporles, which is getting appealed, the Seahawks having the 49ers shook & the Bengals already got the Steelers Nation panicing. Before I start my preview, who the hell let a female judge a boxing match like Mayweather/Alvarez & make it a majority decision because your ass made a choice to have your scorecard a draw. Mayweather was clearly dominating that fight. Also, prayers to the folks in D.C. after that shooting yesterday. Let’s break it down shall we.

Thursday

Kansas City vs Philadelphia- Interesting storylines coming into this game. Obiviously at the top, the return of Andy Reid. If I was at that game, I would give him an standing ovation once he steps on that field. He’s got the Cheifs coming into Philly at 2-0. They pretty much have change that culture overthere. No.2 storyline is the Eagles coming into that game wondering where the hell is their defense. That offense can score, but’s the defense who can’t stop anyone & Phillip Rivers carved up that secondary. Final storyline is that Donovan McNabb’s getting his number retired there. Old era vs New era. Expect a lot of offense that game.  Eagles are fg. Home fave. I’ll take the Chiefs by 4. Rooting for Andy Reid.

Houston vs Baltimore – The Ravens have some questions to answer after their win over my Browns. Obiviously, the health of Ray Rice. He’s a day to day after hurting his hip. Joe Flacco aka proud papa carried that team after a terrible 1st half & the defense was in championship for. The Texans had to come back to defeat a Titans team who wouldn’t give up. I guess Schaub found a 2nd receiver in DeAndre Hopkins after his 2 catches  in ot( the 2nd one was the game winning td) to compliment Ande Johnson after he suffered a concussion in that game. If he’s healhy, it’ll be Ed Reed’s season debut in a Texans & how ironic it would be in Baltimore after winning his 1st ring last yr w/ them. Expect an emotional moment from the Ravens crowd & him as well. The Texans are a point road fave.  It depends on which rb by committee dominates the game. I like the Texans by a fg

Green Bay vs Cincinnati- The Bengals are coming off a great win on Monday night vs the Steelers. Giovanni Bernard, the rookie outta North Carolina, picked the right time to have a breakout game & pretty much took A.J Green’s numbers & fantasy pts away from me. The defense was also making life hell for Ben Roethesberger & that Steelers o-line. For the Packers, Aaron Rodgers passed for over 400 yds & they got a 100 yd rushing game from James Starks in their win over the Redskins. Only bad sidenote was that Eddie Lacy suffered a concussion from a helmet to helmet from Brandon Merriweather. He’s day to day. If they can’t run, rely on Rodgers to carry them. The Packers are a td road fave. I like the Bengals to win, take the pts & protect their house.

St Louis vs Dallas- Which Cowboy’s going to show up this week? The one that caused 6 turnonvers & scored 31 pts on the Giants in the win or the lack of running game, Romo scared twinkle toe lead squad who lost last week. Dez Bryant was catching everything, however there was one pass that he wish he could have back. For the Rams, they are coming off a loss in Atlanta. Will Sam Bradford have one of those games like he had during the Red River shoot-out days (Oklahoma vs Texas). He know’s the Dallas crowd & they should have respect for him. The Cowboys are 3.5 home faves. I hate to say this, but I got the Boys by a fg (happy now Letty Bear)

Atlanta vs Miami- A nice match-up here this week. The Falcons are coming off a great win vs the Rams, but don’t know if they’ll have Steven Jackson for this game because of an injury. Expect a lot of Jacquizz Rodgers out from the flats if needed or to lead the running back by committee crew. The Dolphins finally found Mike Wallace & got him involved in their offense. Look at the results it gave them in a win. Now Tannehill has his major receiver to get in sync & also along w/ Brian Hartline, that’s a young, underated weapons & they are surprising me as a 2-0 team. It may be an air out affair or will Matt Ryan spend most of the game on his back because that Dolphins defense love to sack the qb. The Dolphins are a pt fave at home. I like the Falcons to win a close game on the road.

Cleveland vs Minnesota- Both teams are 0-2 coming into this game, so something has to give. The Browns defense has done their part, its’ the offense that hasn’t done their thing. Weeden can’t seem to shake the pass rush, Trent Richardson is struggling & thank god Jsoh Gordon returns this week. Difference is that will he be catching balls from Jason Campbell or Brian Moyer since Weeden injured his thumb. For the Vikings, they had a kick-off return & defensive td, Adrian Peterson going over 100 yds, but the defense couldn’t stop the Bears on a lats min game winning drive & fans are already crying on Ponder’s skills. The highlight of this game is Adrian Peterson vs Trent Richardson.  Expect a lot of pound & ground. The Vikings are 5.5 home faves. I take my Brownies by 5 because I trust Jason Campbell behind center & he’s more reliable than Ponder.

Buffalo vs N.Y Jets- a battle of 2 rookie qbs in this match-up. E.J. Manuel vs Geno Smith.  Outta them, I like Manuel because of his composure, especially on his last min drive to win that game vs the Panthers. lLike I said last week, I love that team’s upside. For the Jets, the defense & Tom Brady’s receivers other than Edelman couldn’t catch a ball. That’s why they had a close ugly loss. Plus, Smith making mental rookie mistakes w/ his turnovers. It’s gonna be an ugly game. It’ll probably come down to which qb makes the less mistakes. The Jets are 1.5 home faves. I like the Bills by a td.

Tampa Bay vs New England- The Buccaneers are the most unlucky 0-2 team I’ve seen so far. 2 bad mistakes (Lavonte David’s out of bounds hit on Geno Smith in week 1 & a missed fg to least put more pressure on the Saints last week) have kept them from being 2-0 so far. And if that was worst, Schiano has already pissed off not only Josh Freeman, who’s struggling in his contract yr so far, but also their biggest acquisition in Darelle Revis, which was later squashed. Don’t forget bout Goldson’s & his late hits. As for the Pats, ugly win over the Jets, but Brady’s losing more weapons. Amedola’s rather go into rehab than have surgery & Gronk’s unlikely to return. We saw Tom Brady’s frustration showed last week. If it’s an ugly game, it’ll favors the Bucs. The Pats are 9.5. I like the Pats by an ugly fg.

Arizona vs New Orleans- The Saints have gotten their swagger back since Sean Payton has returned. Even though they are 2-0, they are finding ways to win, whether it’s a defensive stand or late min drill. For the Cards, they are coming off a great home win vs the Lions. I wonder who Patick Peterson will defending this game. The Saints are 9 pt home faves. I like the Saints by 5.

 Randy:

San Diego vs Tennessee- The Chargers are coming off a shootout win in Philly & Phillip Rivers regained his pro bowl form.. Ryan Mathews also show signs of his  potential. For the Titans, even though they lost in ot vs Texans ( 4 opportunites in final seconds), they gave them all they can handle. The Titans are a fg home fave. I like the Chargers & the cover

 Randy:

Detroit vs Washington- It’s panic time & D.C & we ain’t talking bout Obama. The 0-2 start has fans wondering should they bench RGIII & start playing Kirk Cousins. He struggles in the 1st half, then regroups the 2nd half. Same thing w/ their defense. For the Lions, coming off the loss in Arizona & they are lucky that Reggie Bush’s knee injury isn’t that serious. I’ll be scared if I was RG III should Ndamukong Suh’s near me. The Redskins are a pt home fave. I like the Lions by a fg.

N.Y. Giants vs Carolina- Another battle of 0-2 teams here. The Giants were punked in their own house by the Broncos. Eli Manning’s already thrown 7 ints in 2 games & a lack of running game is their problem. The Panthers just can’ t close out a game in the 4th qtr. It took a Luke Kuechly pass interference to negate an interception to ice the game. For the 1st time this week, they can’t blame that loss on Cam Newton’s failure to lead a crucial drive. It may be ugly in Carolina . The Panthers are 1 pt home faves. I believe in Eli befoe I believe in Cam. G-Men by a td

Randy:

Indinapolis vs San Francisco- Both teams are coming of losses, but the 49ers got it worse. They were shooked in Seattle as dumb penalties, injuries, & the 12th man rattle their asses. For the Colts, it was too much Mike Wallace on them.  Interesting storyline is the return of Andrew Luck in the Bay Area since he played his college ball at Stanford & his coach was Jim Harbaugh for 2 yrs. At least Harbaugh has more love & respect for him than he’s got for Richard Sherman. The 49ers are 111.5 home faves. I’ll take the Niners, but that’s a lil high on the spread.

Randy:

Jacksonville vs Seattle- The Seahawks gave Pete Carroll a great b-day gift on Sunday & they showed the 49ers that whenever you have to go to the Clink, expect bad things. Sherman & the secondary put a milk cartoon on Boldin & Vernon Davis. For the Jags, only 11 pts in 2 games, MJD got hurt & it’s gotten so bad, fans had a rally yesterday to get the team to sign Tim Tebow (only 23 people showed up). Give it up, Tebow’s not coming, not even to bring fans to your games. Seahawks are 19.5 home faves. I like the Seahawks & the over.

 Randy:

Chicago vs Pittsburgh- The Bears were lead by “Mr. 4th qtr” Jay Cutler in their game winning drive over the Vikings.  Before Brandon Marshall starts calling him that, I wonder if they still ever forgive for sitting out the NFC title & not evening giving a chance to play while injured.  Also, there was a Devin Hester sighting as he broke a single game record in return yds. That’s why he’s the most dangerous returner in the game. For the Steelers, an 0-2 start, no running game & Ben Roetheberger was twinkle toes in the pocket whenever that Bengals pass rush was on him. It sucks that Pouncey isn’t there to protect him (he’s got all the time in the world to wear his “Free Hernandez” hat since he’s done for the yr). Good question for Steelers Nation: Is Felix Jones your answer at running back because the Le’Velll Bell has hurt your team. The Bears are a pt road fave. I like the Bears by a fg. More panic time for the Wack & Yellow

Monday

Oakland vs Denver- The Broncos are showing why they are one of the elite teams & favorites to win the Super Bowl this yr. Peyton Manning owned lil brother last week & Knowshon Moreno joined in the party as well. Imagine what they’ll look like on defense when Champ Bailley’s healthy & ready to return as well when Von Milller returns from his suspension. For the Raiders, coming off a win at home vs a lowly Jags team. McFadden & Pryor equals pick your poison in the backfield & the defense has that pass rush. Broncos are 16.5 home faves. I like the Broncos, but take the under

Last week, we had a tie for the top spot w/ Noez & Randy having a 12-4 record while I had a 11-5 record.  Overall record for Mega 7981’s bonus has Randy in the lead w/ a 23-9 record w/ me & Noez tied w/ 19-13.  Happy b-day shoutouts to Crystal Santos, Trish Hughes (ONE BAND, ONE SOUND), Amy Panel, Joann Villa, Jackie Papazian Brown, Jennifer Saldana, Jay Love, Nicholas Smith, Eddie Fontes, Jennifer Beckham, Melissa Moore, Cheryl Zahn, Allister Carlos, Joaquin Delgado, Jacqleen Marie, Lucy Zuzu, Paul Velasquez, & last, but not least, my niece Dejah Irving, who hits 16. I know your uncle Terrance & mom Carole are proud of you. Shoutouts as well to my WHS peeps Joey Lojero, Kourtney Dean & Rashad Hogan, who I ran into last week & deejayed a fight party/ poker tourney for his football team. It’s for the kids people. Catch y’all on the next blog. Peace!!
