Can Gore & the 49ers pop the Seahawks’ balloon this weekend?

Only 1 more week left in the season! Is everyone ready for the postseason? I know I am. Last week, we saw Adrian Peterson (the real MVP in my opinion) continue his pursuit for surpassing Eric Dickerson’s single rushing yds record (294 away), Kurt Cousins filled in for RG III & carved up my Browns to keep their playoffs hope alive, the NFC East in a 3 way tie (Giants, Cowboys, & Redskins), the 49ers going into cold New England & winning the game & Mark Sanchez found a way to lose another game for the Jets, which resulted in them getting eliminated from the postseason. We still have some divisons & playoff berths needed to be clinched & some players having some individual records to break. Let’s break down this week shall we!

Atlanta vs Detroit- The Falcons can clinch homefield advantage throughout the playoffs w/ a win this week. Last week, they had another statement win @ home, this time it was versus the champs NY Giants. It was payback for last yr’s wild card game loss in which they only scored 2 pts. For the Lions, they are just playing out the season, but Calvin Johnson is closing on breaking Jerry Rice’s single season receiving yd record. I know he would rather have this record while the Lions still in the playoff chase. The Falcons are 3.5 road faves. I like the Falcons & take the pts.

Randy: Atlanta

Oakland vs Carolna- Both teams are just playing for draft position & are coming off wins. The Raiders relied on 5 Sebastian Janikowski field goals to defeat the Chiefs while the Panthers went into San Diego & spanked the Chargers. Cam’s starting to come on strong (it may be good for fantasy football, but it should result in wins). The Panthers are 9.5 home faves. Too high of a spread. I like the Panthers, but take the under.

Randy: Carolina

New Orleans vs Dallas- The Cowboys are in a dogfight for the NFC East title & escaped an overtime home win vs the Steelers. Tony Romo became the 1st quarterback to pass over 300 yds on the Steelers defense this yr. For the Saints, they spanked the Bucs 41-0, but they can forget about the postseason. Too much off the field distractions hurt them this yr. The Cowboys are a pt fave. It’s gonna be a shootout, but something tells me that the Saints are going to edge this one out (sorry Letty baby)

Randy: New Orleans

Tennessee vs Green Bay- The Titans are coming off one of the ugliest Monday Night games I ever seen. Pretty much, their offense was a long 94 yd run from Chris Johnson & Jake Lockler qb’s run. The Jets gave them that game in my opinion. For the Packers, they clinched the NFC North by sweeping the head to head series vs the Bears, however they almost wanted the Bears to win last week. They should thank Alston Jeffery for those offensive p.i. penalties. Packers are still competing w/ the 49ers for the 2nd spot in the NFC. The Packers are 13 pt home faves. I like the Packers & the over.

Randy: Green Bay

Minnesota vs Houston- Both teams are coming off wins, however the attraction for me in this game is Adrian Peterson vs Arian Foster. Peterson is coming off another 200 yd rushing game & he’s in a pursuit for Dickerson’s record & the Vikings are still in a playoff race. For theTexans, they clinched their division last week & I think they can clinch homefield w/ a win this week. I just want to see how the running back match-up plays out. The Texans are 9 pt home faves. I like the Texans, but take the under.

Randy: Houston

New England vs Jacksonville- The Pats used all their energy to come back from a 28 pt defecit vs the 49ers, but still lost the game. Tom Brady said it best: they spotted the Niners 28 pts. For the Jags, they lost a close one to the Dolphins & just playing for draft position. The Pats are 14.5 road faves. I like the Pats & the over because they are going to kill the Jags.

Randy: New England

Indianapolis vs Kansas City- The Colts are one win away from clinching a wild card berth & they may be getting an early xmas gift in Coach Pagano’s return to the Colts’ sideline. They are coming off a loss to the Colts, but it’s no biggie for them. For the Chiefs, simply put it Sebastian Janikowski’s foot defeated them. It’s been a tough season for them. The Colts are 6.5 road faves. I like the Colts & the slight over.

Randy: Indianapolis

Buffalo vs Miami- Round 2 of this AFC East battle. The Bills won round 1 earlier this yr. Miami’s looking for a 2 game winning streak after defeating the Jags last week in the battle of Florida. For the Bills, they just want to forget about the 50 pts the Seahawks put on them last week. Dolphins are still in the hunt for the postseason. The Dolphins are 4.5 home faves. I like the Dolphins & the pts.

Randy: Miami

San Diego vs NY Jets- Both teams are coming off losses. The Chargers let the Panthers come in their house & punked them while the Jets had an ugly loss so bad that Mark Sanchez gets benched & they have Greg McElroy starting this week & it eventually has Tim Tebow heated. Advice for Tebow: if it’s true according, ask for a trade. You should had went to Jacksonville instead. The Jets are a pt home fave. I love my Havana gf, but I don’t see the Jets winning this game, Sanchez starting or not. I picked the Chargers by a fg.

Randy: San Diego

Washington vs Philadelphia- The Skins continued their winning ways last week, even if Kurt Cousins was under center. RG III however says he’s ready & no one ever loses their job to an injury, unless you’re Alex Smith, but’s that a different story. For the Eagles, just playing out the stretch, but Shady McCoy makes his return in this game. The Skins are 6 pt road faves. I like the Skins by a td.

Randy: Washington

Cincinnati vs Pittsburgh- Both teams are still in the wild card hunt. The Steelers lost a close ot game in Dallas & Big Ben didn’t like the playcalling. He’s been critical of Haley’s playcalling all yr. For the Bengals, coming off a great win in Philly, however they need this game like they needed the Giants game they won earlier this yr. I think it’s been like 4 yrs since the last time the Bengals won in Pittsburgh. They had Palmer, Ocho Cinco, & Houshey in that crew. The Steelers are 3.5 home faves. I like the Bengals to sneak out Heinz Field w/ a win. As a Browns fan, since we’re not going to the playoffs, next best thing is no postseason for the Wack & Yellow.

Randy: Pitts

St. Louis vs Tampa Bay- The Rams still have postseason hopes, but needs help to get there. Last week, Adrian Peterson did them in w/over 200 yds rushing. For the Bucs, New Orleans put 41 pts on them. Both teams looking to shake losses off them. The Bucs are 3 pt home fave. I like the Rams by a fg.

Randy: Tampa Bay

Cleveland vs Denver- The Broncos are on a roll & last week, they made Baltimore look dumb @ home. The way they’re going, they could host the AFC title should the Texans fall in their 1st playoff game. For my Browns, my dreams of finishing 8-8 fell by the wayside, thanks to Kurt Cousins & the Redskins doing their job. Only bright spot for us was Trent Richardson breaking the franchise’s rookie record for tds in a season. The Broncos are 13.5 home faves. I love my Browns, but even I know we can’t win that game. Broncos & the under.

Randy: Denver

Chicago vs Arizona- The Cardinals snapped their 7 game losing streak last week & got a win. It helped that Stafford threw 3 ints last week & the Lions never established a running game. For the Bears, no offense productivity in their loss to the Packers & Brandon Marshall let the press know. The Bears are still in the wild card hunt though & are 9.5 road faves. I like the Bears, but take the slight under.

Randy: Chicago

NY Giants vs Baltimore- Both teams are coming off losses. The Giants were dominated by the Falcons in the A & were shutout while the Broncos went into Baltimore & dominated the Ravens. It was the 1st game for the Ravens since they fired the offensive coordinator. The Ravens will go as far as Flacco will take them. The Giants are in a dogfight for the division & wild card berth. Both teams need a win so bad. The Giants are a pt road fave. I like the Giants by a fg because I rather trust Eli than CM Flacco.

Randy: NY Giants

San Francisco vs Seattle- Both teams are coming off wins & this game could mean the NFC West title. The Niners proved they were ready for primetime as they held on to a 7 pt win in New England & they have prove they could go anywhere & win games. The Seahawks & Pete Carroll put up another 50 pt explosion on an inferior team (Buffalo) & Russell Wilson made history by being the 1st qb to run for 3 tds & pass for 2 tds in a game. The 49ers won the 1st match-up in the Bay this yr. Both teams are different this time around. The 49ers are a pt road fave. I like the 49ers by a fg because Harbaugh owns Carroll ever since those Stanford/SC days!!

Before I mention last week totals, I want to sent prayers to the families who lost their kids in the Sandy Hook shooting. We need to talk to our kids & show them we love them a lot because nothing’s promise. As for the results for last week, I’m was the top dawg w/ a 11-5 record while Noez finished w/ a 10-6. Randy forgot to send his picks last week (I hope he remembers this week). Happy b-day shoutouts to Jade Monge, Monica Villar Cruz, Vanessa Alva, Rosemary Prieto, Moises “Deck a Rec” Hurtado, Christy Kae, Anthony Araya, Sandra Soto, Greg Torres, Kristina Gomez, & Jennifer Fernandez. Also, have a safe xmas weekend out there. Good luck to my fantasy football team as I’ll look to win my 1st ever fantasy title. Catch ya’ll on the next blog. Peace!!
