It’s thanksgiving time aka week 12 preview

are the 49ers the best team in the NFC?

It’s that time of year people!! The time that families get together & enjoy themselves as well as say what they are thankful for this yr. 2 things happen that day as well. The woman are in the kitchen cooking & the men are watching football. Speaking of football, last week was crazy. We saw RG III torch the Eagles, Gronk getting hurt on an extra pt when they were ahead by 20+, my Browns secondary commiting dumb penalties in a game they should had won, but gave it away & a star being born in the name of Colin Kaepernick. Starting this week, no more bye weeks, so every team plays & playoff positioning is at stake this time of yr. Let’s break down some games starting w/ the thanksgiving ones.

Thursday

Houston vs Detroit- The Texans had to survive Chad Henne & the Jags to win their game in ot while the Lions had a tough loss @ home vs the Packers. I want to see this game because it’s the battle of the Johnson’s (Calvin aka Megatron vs Andre). Usually throughout the last 15 yrs, the Lions thanksgiving game was the laughingstock because of the Lions inability to compete til last yr, when they were in a playoff race & hosted the Packers who were undefeated. It was good til Suh stomped on that Packers lineman. Lions may be 4-6, but still have a chance for the playoffs while the Texans just want to keep momentum for homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. The Texans are fg road faves in this contest. I like the Texans by a td.

Washington vs Dallas- Nothing like this hated rivalry to play on thanksgiving. Cowboys & Redskins. Nuff said. Both teams are coming off wins. RG III had almost a perfect qb rating in the win over the Eagles, but people say the Eagles don’t count because they are playing out the stretch while the Cowboys had to comeback from a 13 pt defecit to defeat my Browns in ot. I can see this game as a shootout between Romo & Griffin, only team who has a running game is the Redskins w/ Morris & when Griffin rolls out the pocket. The Cowboys are a fg home fave. I like the Redskins to win by a fg.

New England vs NY Jets- Round 2 of this battle concludes thanksgiving football. Last time these teams played, it went into ot & Sanchez choked the game by taking a sack & fumbling on their possession. Both teams are coming off wins (Jets defeated the Rams while the Pats whipped the Colts, but lost Gronk). For the Pats, Aaron Hernandez is gonna have to step up in Gronk’s absence & the running game has to be on point. Can the Jets pull an upset? We’ll find out in the game. Pats are td road faves. I like that spread & will take it

Sunday

Tennessee vs Jacksonville- The Jags & Chad Henne almost had the upset of the week when they went toe to toe w/ the Texans. They made a mental mistake on their final possession in ot when they went for it on 4th down instead of punting & pinning their opponent down. For the Titans, it was their bye week & I think Locklear’s return is this week. Hasselback did a great job filling in & it woke up Chris Johnson stat wise. It’s a divisional battle, so expect a lot of hard hits. The Titans are a Bironas fg road fave. I like the Titans by 10.

Randy:

Buffalo vs Indianapolis- The Colts are looking to rebound after the butt kicking they took from the Pats. Luck had one of those “he’s a rookie” games while the Bills had to eek out a home win vs the Dolphins. The Colts still have the wild card hopes & they are on that “Chuck Strong” movement. The Colts are a fg fave at home. I like the Colts by a fg as well.

Randy:

Pittsburgh vs Cleveland- Rivalry week for me!! If you were born in either city, your parents taught you this 1st rule: hate the other team. So you know my dislike for the Wack & Yellow. Both teams are coming off losses, my Browns & the secondary choking that game in Dallas while the Steelers not only lost a close game @ home vs Baltimore, but Leftwich sprained his shoulder, meaning Charlie Batch’s the next man up. Steelers made moves today by bringing back Plaxico Burress. I don’t know why because they have Wallace, Sanders, & Brown, but Brown didn’t play last game. For my Browns, this game is very important to Jimmy Haslam, the new owner, since he had ties to the Steelers. There’s no line for this game. I like my Browns by 4. We’re due to beat this squad.

Randy:

Oakland vs Cincinnati- The Bengals are looking for momentum after their dominating win over the Chiefs while the Raiders just want to forget about the last game vs the Saints. The storyline for this game: Carson Palmer’s return to the Natti. I bet he’s gonna get booed out the stadium. He did quit on them during his semi retirement, but Andy Dalton & A.J. Green made them forget about him & Chad Johnson. The Bengals are 9.5 home faves. I like them by a td.

Noez:

Randy:

Denver vs Kansas City- The Broncos continue their winning ways, but suffered a blow when Willis McGahee tore his acl & he’s out 6 to 8 weeks. That’s big because he was their power back & now they have to go by committee w/ Knoshown Moreno & Ball. For the Chiefs, they just playing out the string. Broncos are 10.5 pt road faves. I like the Broncos by 21.

Noez:

Randy:

Seattle vs Miami- The Dolphins are coming off a loss in cold ass Buffalo while the Seahawks are coming off the bye. It’s the stretch run for Pete & the boys as they are the only threat to the 49ers repeating as division champs. I know Pete had a tough week watching the Trojans fall as well. The Seahawks are 3 pt road faves. I like the Seahawks by a td

Noez:

Randy:

Atlanta vs Tampa Bay- A NFC South battle. The Falcons survived 5 ints from Matt Ryan as their defense picked them up in this win while the Bucs had to go to ot to defeat the Panthers in Carolina. The Falcons are starting to have flaws, yet they are 9-1. The Bucs are still in the position for the wild card. Expect a lot of hard hitting. The Bucs are 1.5 home faves. I can see the Bucs winning this game @ home.

Randy:

Minnesota vs Chicago- A battle in the NFC North & it’s very important. The Bears are coming off getting punked by the 49ers last night. We know the offensive line is a problem whether it’s Cutler or Jason Campbell behind center, but the defense was scorched by the 49ers’ 2nd string qb. That was embarrassing. The Vikes are coming off their bye & gained a little ground in that crowded division. The Bears & Packers are tied for 1st while the Vikes are on their trail. Whoever loses may be looking @ the Packers in the division. There’s no line because they don’t know if Cutler will play this game. I like the Vikings by a td because Purple Jesus treats them like his bitch.

Noez:

Randy:

Baltimore vs San Diego- The Ravens are coming off a tough road win & every road game is a challenge for Flacco. Check out his stats for home games & away games: home- 66.5 completion percentage, 322.4 yards per game, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions.
on the road: 54.2 completion percentage, 176.6 yards per game, three touchdowns and four interceptions. Which Flacco do you want? As for the Chargers, they are looking up @ the Broncos in the AFC West & Norv’s days as coach may be numbered. The Ravens are 1.5 road faves. I like the Ravens by a fg.

St Louis vs Arizona- Round 2 of this battle. The Rams & their defense won the 1st battle in the Lou when they made Skeleton’s life a living hell. Both teams are coming off losses. The Rams were popped in the mouth by the Jets while Arizona lose a close one in Atlanta despite causing 5 ints on Matty Ice. Basically, this is a battle to see who doesn’t finish in last place in the NFC West. The Cards are a pt home fave. I like them by a fg

Noez:

Randy:

San Francisco vs New Orleans- Ladies & gentleman, a star was born last night. His name: Colin Kaepernick. He had that swag about him & he carved up that vaulted Bears defense. He was so good that Harbaugh is thinking about starting him this game if Smith hasn’t fully recovered from his concussion. The defense, especially Aldon Smith was beasting last night. For the Saints, another win to even their record @ 5-5. They still have a shot for the wild card, but need help. This is the rematch from last yr’s exciting divisional round game when Alex Smith found Vernon Davis for the winning score. 49ers are a pt road fave. I like them by a fg.

Noez:

Randy:

Green Bay vs NY Giants- These 2 will play for the 3rd time in 2 yrs. They met in the playoffs last yr & the Giants knocked them out. The Packers are coming off their win in Detroit while the Giants are coming off a much needed bye week, but they have been struggling their last 4 games. Justin Tuck thinks they have been over cocky. The Packers seem to find their stride & all they need to do is make it to the dance because anything can happen. It may come down to who’s clutch in the 4th: Eli or A-Rod. The G-Man are 2.5 home faves. They are the champs. I like them by a fg

Randy:

Monday

Carolina vs Philadelphia- Why would ESPN showed this game when both teams are under .500. Both are coming off losses. The Eagles were manhandled by the Redskins & Nick Foles debut was a stunker. To make things worse, Shady McCoy got a concussion that game. The Panthers had an ot loss vs the Bucs. I’m surprised ESPN didn’t flex this game. No line for this game. Someone has to win. I pick Cam & the Panthers.

Last week, Randy dominated the picks w/ a 13-1 record while myself & Noez were tied w/ a 9-5 record. Hope everyone has a safe thanksgiving. Happy b-day shouts to Sirena Siren aka Robin, Jose Pastora III aka Memo, Michelle Morales, Nicole Falin, Monique Moreno, & last but not least, my “lil sis” Dez Claiborne & happy anniversary to you & Chris as well. Let’s go Buckeyes as we put boots to asses to the “school up north”. I’ll catch everyone on the next blog. Peace
