week 7 preview

to Osi Uneymora: allow me to introduce myself, my name is RGIII

We had a crazy & rough week last in the NFL! We saw the Texans fall from the undefeated rankings & the Falcons eeking out another nailbiting win in the Georgia Dome. We saw the Ravens defense crumble in a win w/ Ray Lewis & Darius Webb suffering season ending injuries, even though the Ravens have hope that Ray will return in week 15 & also saw the Broncos w/ Peyton Manning completing the greastest comeback in their team history by scoring 35 unanswered pts in their comeback win on Monday night. I also had the unfortunate task of losing my 1st game this week in fantasy football. Oh well, my Browns winning their 1st game softened the womb. I wonder what surprises d o we have for this week. Let’s break down the games.

Thursday

Seattle vs San Francisco- The 49ers will have a short week to take the taste of the Giants’ ass whipping out of their mouths. Alex Smith picked the worst time to go back to the Smith that the Niners hated w/ those turnovers & the defense couldn’t get to Eli Manning. The Seahawks had a defensive battle in their win over the Pats. Russell Wilson outplayed Tom Brady & speaking of Brady, how the hell you let a 5th round draft pick in Richard Sherman get in your head? He was popping off in Twitter & the defense backed it up. It’s gonna be a defensive battle & anything can happen whenever a Jim Harbaugh team faces a Pete Carrol team. Remember, Harbaugh owns Carroll, going back to SC/Stanford battles. The 49ers are 9 pt home faves. I like the 49ers by a fg.

Sunday

Tennesseee vs Buffalo- The Titans are coming off a team effort win vs the Steelers on Thursday while the Bills had to scratch out an overtime road win in Arizona. Even though Chris Johnson had at least 80+ yds rushing, he had to work for those yds. Hasselback’s filling in great while Locklear’s recovering from his shoulder injury. For the Bills, that’s a ground & pound team w/ CJ Spiller & Fred Jackson & we don’t know which Ryan Fitzpatrick’s gonna show up. Memo for Fitzpatrick: look to Stevie Johnson’ direction more. The Bills are a fg home fave. I like that spread. I’m circling the wagons w/ the Bills & welcome back to Shawne Merriman

Randy: Buffalo

Arizona vs Minnesota- Both teams are coming off losses. The Vikings felt the RG III experience in full effect last week in DC while the Cards lost an ot battle @ home vs the Bills. Not only they lost the game, but Kevin Kolb got hurt in the process, meaning another qb carosel between him & John Skelton. At least the Vikes don’t have to worry bout that. The Vikes are 4.5 home faves. They’ll bounce back & win this game in a close battle.

Randy: Minnesota

Dallas vs Carolina- Last week, the Cowboys found a way to yet lose another game. Last yr vs the Cards, Garret freezes the kicker. Last week, it was play calling & Romo burning a timeout way too early resulting in their kicker missing a game winning fg of 50+ yds. The worst part was Dez Bryant had a breakout game w/ 12 catches & 2 tds, but had 2 major drops down the stretch. For the Panthers, thank god it was the bye week because I know Cam Newton was getting killed in the Charlotte press. So both qbs are under the radar in this game. Whoever makes more mistakes, their local papers are going to have a field day on them. The Cowboys are 2.5 road faves. I like the Cowboys by a fg (happy Letty Bear)

Randy: Dallas

New Orleans vs Tampa Bay- It’s an NFC South battle here in Tampa Bay. The Bucs are coming off a dominate win over the Chiefs while the Saints are coming off their bye week. Even though the Saints only have one win, they’re gonna have more enforcements returning w/ Jonathan Vilma being activated for this game, even though he’s appealing that yr long suspension from Goodell for “Bounty Gate”. My advice to that: let it go & reinstated them as well as Sean Payton. Gregg Williams is the one who should be suspended. Expect a knockdown battle. The Saints are a fg road fave. I like the Saints by 10 in this game. Like Josh Freeman’s gonna outplay Drew Brees.

Green Bay vs St Louis- The Packers send a message to the league w/ that beatdown & Aaron Rodgers said it best: SHHHH!! They may be 3-3, but never count them out. Rodgers was back in MVP form w/ that 6 td performance. For the Rams, they had a heartbreaking loss to the Dolphins in South Beach, but they are 3-3 as well & also in that tough NFC West division. The Packers are 6 pt road faves. I like the Packers by 10. Only way if it’s close is if Sam Bradford can put up offensive numbers to match Rodgers.

Randy: Green Bay

Washington vs NY Giants- We got ourselves a divisional battle here w/ 2 hated rivals. The Redskins are coming off their big win over the Vikes while the champs had to remind the 49ers why they won the whole enchilada w/ their road win in Candlestick Park. I wonder if Robert Griffin is gonna remember that quote Osi said in the preseason about “calling him Bob because he’s hasn’t done anything to earn that RG III nickname”. I hope he’s watching his highlights because the “hype is real” like Eminem would say & btw, happy b-day to Slim Shady. Props to the Giants offensive line for keeping Eli’s jersey clean & the defense was giving Alex Smith fits all game. Antrel Rolle was having an int party. Round 1 is in MetLife Stadium & the Giants are a td home fave. I’ll take the spread & pick the G-man.

Randy: NY Giants

Baltimore vs Houston- The Ravens survived a 3pt win over the Cowboys & injuries to Webb, Lewis, & Ngota. Ngota says he’s playing this game while the Ravens are leaving the door open for Ray Lewis to return. At least they got T-Sizzle to practice this week. For the Texans, they made dumb mistakes in the loss to the Packers & the Packers capitalize on them. If Lewis & Cushing were healthy, this had the sound of a smash mouth battle. I’m gonna like the running back battle between Ray Rice & Arian Foster. The Texans are 4 pt home faves. I like the Texans by 1

Randy: Houston

Cleveland vs Indianapolis- It’s a rookie battle this week as Andrew Luck faces Brandon Weeden. Weeden is coming off his 1st win & it was on his b-day vs the Bengals. He didn’t disappoint w/ 2 td passes & only 1 int. The Browns win came at a cost w/ Trent Richardson having bruised ribs & he’s day to day. Get well Trent Dawg & it was nice to see Joe Haden back in the secondary. For the Colts, a week after that emotional win for Pagano, the Jets knocked Luck & them back to reality. I’m anxious for this match-up, since the Browns sale was approved by the league (welcome Jimmy Haslam) & Holgremn is gone after the yr (good riddance). The Colts are 3.5 road faves. I like my Browns by 6. Let’s put on another great performance for the new owners.

NY Jets vs New England- If you said that all 4 teams in the AFC East would be tied for 1st place after 6 weeks, I would had said you’re high. Well, that’s what we have here. The Pats & Jets resume their heated rivalry this week in Boston. The Jets put the clamps on the Colts while the Pats were just punked physically by the Seahawks in Seattle. W/ the Jets, you don’t know which Mark Sanchez would show every week & of course, the Tebow factor always plays an effect here. For the Pats, they at least got Aaron Hernandez back from his injury, but Brady’s not Brady. At least Rex said something this week that was true: If it came down to coaching, Belechik would own his slim down ass. The Pats are 13 pt home faves. I like the Jets by a fg (I got you Havana gf).

Randy: New England

Carlos:

Jacksonville vs Oakland- The Jags are coming off a bye week while the Raiders are coming off a heartbreaking loss in the ATL. They were in the game for all 4 qtrs & the defense forced 3 ints off Matty Ice, but Carson Palmer picked a wrong time to throw that pick 6 to Asante Samuel & yet they responded well to tie the game. However, Matty Ice found a way to drive the Falcons down field to get that game winning fg & Matty Ice never loses at home. However, for the Raiders, Mike Goodson proved to be a relief whenever McFadden got a blow. The Raiders are a 5 pt home fave. I like their chances since the baseball diamond won’t play a factor since the A’s were eliminated in the ALDS. I like the Raiders by a td.

Randy: Oakland

Noez: Oakland

Carlos:

Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati- AFC North rivals conclude the Sunday festivities for week 7. The Bengals are coming off a loss to their in state rivals Browns while the Steelers played down to their competition, resulting in a loss to the Titans. For the Steelers, another game w/out Polamalu (is he Mr. Glass?), but the defense will still be good as long as they got Harrison & if Woodley’s going to play this game. For the Bengals, they always have trouble w/ the AFC North big dawgs (Pittsburgh & Baltimore) & at some point, they gotta find a way to beat these teams to get respect. The Steelers are 1 pt road faves. I already know the outcome, wack & yellow playing down their opponent & this will result in a loss. I gotta show love to Who Dey nation!

Monday

Detroit vs Chicago- We got another divisional battle here for Monday night. Last time we saw the Bears on Monday night, they forced 5 ints on Tony Romo. Last week was their bye week, so they are ready. For the Lions, they had to comeback to defeat the Eagles in ot (which resulted in Juan Castillo getting canned). Last yr around this time, the Lions were the surprise of the league. This yr, they got the bulls eye on their back. It also doesn’t take that Titus Young is saying they are going back to their bad way (expect a lot of flags ladies & gents for unsportmanlike conduct). I wonder which qb is gonna have a 3+ int game. Will it be Cutler or Stafford? We’ll find out. The Bears are 6 pts home faves. I like the Bears to win by a td, but I need Megatron to go off for fantasy football purposes.

Last week, we saw Randy Salazer regained his top dawg status, even though he was tied w/ Noez w/ a 6-8 record while I had the 5-9 record. Welcome to the clique Carlos Hernadez. Let’s see how this week goes. Happy b-day shoutouts to Vivian Herrera, my girl Tracey Poole (shoutout to Pink Lady ent), my stepniece Ramona Grayson, Richard Valle, Jennifer Docks (I owe you a special mix cd), Robert Change (congrats on the wedding dawg), Maribel Sandoval, & Adam Sol (ready for Friday). Shoutouts to my girl Leticia Robinson (come back safe) & Steven Screws (hope the Yanks can make an impossible comeback). I’ll catch everyone on the next blog. Peace.
